One. Twenty Four. Eleven.

Last night we had some fun with my new Alien Bee studio light.
We made pictures GALORE. I cant even begin to post them all.
MANY more good times are on the horizon with this new piece of equipment.
My photographic world just opened up.

One. Twelve. Eleven.

Who says all kindergartners are 5 or 6 years old?
I just sent an 89 year old to school this morning.

Sophia and I were playing princesses yesterday.
I got the bright idea to curl her hair.
She NEVER lets me do her hair but she did yesterday (only if I agreed to let her wear lipstick) and I was SOOOO excited!
I dont have a curling iron so I used my straightener.
I admit, I dont really know what I'm doing and she ended up with the most old fashioned hair do EVER!
Steven has been calling her Mable ever since.
This morning she put on her "jewels" when getting ready and I laughed out loud when I saw her.
Only because she is the absolute most beautiful 89 year old there ever was!

.1.11.11.11:11.

My good comes to me as people, as events, as opportunities.
My good comes to me as wise council, as friendship, as passion and delight.
I honor my good by recognizing its many forms.
I am grateful and attentive to the abundant good of life!

I have a little bit more information for those of you who are going to participate in my upcoming photography project which I am entitling.

Eyes: The Window to the Soul.

Since putting the idea out there last week I have received many emails from willing subjects. To this response I have to say THANK YOU!! I am so excited about this idea and am really looking forward to its commencement. Over the past week I have been doing a lot of contemplating and conceptualizing. My desire is to set firm boundaries for myself and for the purpose of this project and then explore every inch within those parameters. I will be asking all who participate to do the very same. I dont want to say too much here on the blog but please be on the look out for an email with full details coming very soon. I will be divuldging the full spectrum of my idea and it will be at that point that you can decide if you are willing to dig deep with me. I know I said it will be easy. And it will. But there will be some work required of you...as in any portrait session. :) One of the most compelling reasons for me to do this project with you is to MEET YOU! To get to know you better. For that, I cant wait!

If you are hearing about this project for the first time today or if you just didn't express your interest last week, I am still looking for participants. Please send me an email confirming your desire to be seen so that I can be sure to send you all the info you will need.

I received this message on facebook the other day.
It completely made my day!
This is precisely why I love my job.
Thank you Steve for taking the time to write these terrific words and for reminding me how lucky I am to do this work and (most importantly) to have clients like you!

Kiera,

Thanks so much for catching this moment. I love the looks on the faces of the boys behind me especially the second one where people are starting to box each other out. I saw it again today and just started laughing and laughing. This is one of my favorites from the wedding.
You are so talented in capturing the moments, so that I can have memories I never knew existed.

Thanks again,
Steve

If you are looking to hire a photographer for your upcoming wedding, I would love to be your girl!

P.S. Happy Birthday Dad!!

One. Ten. Eleven.

All of my days are spent snuggling this little guy.

Asher Leo at 7 weeks.

One. Ten. Eleven.

Sophia is in the absolute cutest stage of life right now.
Steven and I were marveling last night at how incredibly precious and sweet she is.
She says and does the most wonderful things.

For example:
She just walked into my room and said,
"Mom, when I'm grown up and have my very own house, will you send me packages that have pictures of me when I was a kid in them? And some peanut butter?"

My heart cried out "YES!! Of course! I am soooo looking forward to that day! I cant wait to shower you with memories from your childhood and I'd be happy to throw in some peanut butter if that's what will make you happy!"

Hearing this made me realize again, what an important responsibility I have to each of my children now while they are young. I need to visually document their lives for them so that they will be able to recall who they were as children.

After the day to day lives they lead right now have faded from their memories, I want them to remember who they were.
Who they've always been.
Brilliant.

Speaking of brilliance.
This is what Sophia wore to school today.
I just HAD to snap a few shots.

Whats with the red shoe lace and the black and white faux glove you ask?
Oh yes, that is to trick her friends into thinking she broke her arm and is now wearing a cast and a sling.
And yes, she took her Fur Real Go Go Walking Pup to school with her today. Sunglasses and all.

One. Five. Eleven.

If I had only one word to describe the relationship between my best friend Rachel and her boyfriend Skyler, it would be this...
AFFECTIONATE!
These two should really get married because they truly make the cutest couple.
Here's hoping that one of the images taken on this shoot ends up being their engagement picture.
All we need is an official proposal...Skyler.
:)

The scenery slowly disappeared.
Eventually we found ourselves lost in a blanket of white.
